Traveling: no actual traveling this month, but definitely some travel inspiration.
Wearing: believe it or not… beige.
Craving: sunshine, warmth… yellow. Also, statement necklaces and the Jason Wu for Target collection!
Loving: studs, iPhone apps, glittery keys… among other things.
Oh, and this dress.
Resolving: to focus on the right things.
Watching: The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, at the movie theater with my expat pal Emma. Rooney Mara is great as Lisbeth!
Shopping: at Zara for colorful accessories

Reading: A Clash of Kings, book two of A Song of Ice and Fire and the sequel to A Game Of Thrones. These books are really, really good, and amazingly enough, the TV series does the characters justice. Can’t wait till it comes out on DVD in March!
Painting: my nails with OPI Metro Chic.
Eating: the vanilla cupcakes I made for my brother in law’s birthday.

How about you? What have you been up to this month?

Yeah… that would be me. Whoops. Mind you, beige can be boring. It is entirely possible to make neutrals boring – beige by no means has the exclusive on that, you can also do it with black, navy and grey.
I used to think people who wear beige are no fun. What I have realized however is that beige actually enables you to have more fun! Quirky accessories, loud patterns, bright colors? Pair them with beige, and you are toning them down just enough to make them oh, so wearable!
For instance, I tend not to wear gold jewelry much. Next to my olive skin it feels too… kitsch. But pair a couple of gold pieces (even something quirky like these owl earrings) with beige, and – surprise! – the effect is nicely understated (and yet, not boring!)

Lesson learned. So much so in fact, that I have already indulged in a little more non-boring beige.
How about you? What’s your take on this neutral shade?
