I don’t believe in being selfish and self-absorbed – in fact, people like that bug me. But as someone who has the tendency to put others first, I have learned the hard way that I really should make time for myself, too; indulge in something pleasurable that I don’t often treat myself to because I’m too busy taking care of someone else’s needs.
When we say “indulge” we tend to connect it to special treats, especially scrumptious foods or retail therapy. But how about more fulfilling things? Things that really help us fill a void, feel refreshed and happier, and generally make us feel better?
