A great hostess can be as tough to shop for as a beauty queen: she probably pays as much attention to her home as the beauty queen pays to her make-up; someone who makes home entertaining into an art usually knows what she wants and needs, and chances are she already got it for herself.
Still, there is a way to gift her something she will appreciate. One way to go about it is: go with the classics, then add a personal touch. You could choose a beautiful glass jar with a lid, then fill it with homemade cookies; or a bouquet of her favorite flowers, but presented to her in a lovely vase or a vintage glass bottle. Other ideas? How about a perfect vintage teacup accompanied by her favorite tea blend? And sure, everyone loves gourmet chocolate, but why not wrap the box with a lovely silk scarf?
Whatever you choose, make sure you add a touch that lets her know this was no random hostess gift, but was bought with her in mind: things like coffee table books and pillows are ok, as long as you make sure they are exactly to her taste, for instance they are by one of her favorite designers or focus on a city of holiday destination she really loves. Someone who makes you feel special when you are at her place deserves to feel special, too!
