Whaaat? I only realized a few days ago that I didn’t do any resolutions for May. Too busy organizing my trip to London (fat lot of good that did me)  and a bunch of other stuff that basically just ensured that in May I had no extra time at all.

May 2011, a.k.a: The Month That Felt Like Three. Poor little April even got little love, and to think it started out so well!

But hey, too late now to recriminate – upwards and onwards! How about we tackle June? Let’s get started:

Remember Tracy Anderson? I told you about her here. She’s like a combination of the Energizer Bunny, Tony Robbins and a really hot army general. Her workouts make you feel like you are going to die (during) and like she just released an army of teeny-tiny (ha!) monsters who are taking your muscles apart (after.) But man, do those tiny monsters do a good job at putting them together! Which is why this month

1.  I am going to start her Metamorphosis series again, and I will do one of her Transform workouts each and every day. YesIwillyesIwillyesIwill. Starting tomorrow, I promise.

You know what I like to do after a workout? Yes of course, take a shower. But after that? Check my e-mail. Except nowadays “checking my e-mail” consists mostly of a quick scan of the latest messages to see if there are anyone personally addressed to me, after which I promptly ignore the rest.
I am subscribed to so many newsletters and updates etc that it is incredibly time-consuming to simply check my e-mail, and as a result I currently have *looks around, whispers* 943 unread e-mails! Shhh, don’t tell. I’m a little ashamed of that.

Also, this has made checking my e-mail something that fills me with a sense of dread, instead of something I enjoy.

Which is why this month I vow to

2. Sort out my e-mail, get through all unread e-mails and unsubscribe from 2/3 of my current subscriptions so that I bring the volume of incoming messages a little more manageable.

Good luck to me.

But since I don’t want to make June as stressful as May, I have to schedule some “me time” in. So this month

3. I will do something to unwind every single week. And since there’s nothing I love more than exploring and playing tourist, at least once a week I will go to the museum, find a cool new store to browse through, find a new corner of Zurich to explore, or do something fun with my friends or my family.

Does it seem silly to schedule fun? I just feel like sometimes we get so wrapped up in what “needs to be done” that we have little energy left for doing what we actually enjoy. A times like that I have to talk myself into getting up from the sofa and going out, but I never regret it!

How about you? What are you doing this month? DO you also have to schedule in fun?

Whoa. I planned on a couple of weeks off, and next thing I know it’s been over a month. Oops.

Truth be told, not much to report – let me give you a summary: Valentine’s Day, chocolate, school holidays, Stella in the hospital, Stella out of the hospital, Elisa kind of freaked, diet, no chocolate, weight loss, crappy weather, back to school, more crappy weather, exercise, jeans fit better, freaked out about atomic power plants, still no chocolate. That about sums it up. So I’m sure by now you can see for yourself, but let’s all say it together:  February was kind of a bust. And so were the first two weeks of March.

Are you clamoring for a do-over? I’ll allow it. (In fact, I was kind of wishing for one myself.)

March is half-way along already, but it’s not over, so how about some New Month’s Resolutions to make the best of the next two weeks? ’cause it may have been a bust, but somewhere along the way I realized that you’d got to make the bet of what you’ve got. Ready?

This is Tracy Anderson. She is, cute, petite, a trainer-to-the-stars and a bit full of herself, but she is also kind of awesome – at least her method is. She does say “teeny tiny” a lot and it makes me a bit stabby, but if you drown that out with some good music her workouts are great. Which is why I have decided that in the next two weeks…

1. I will do one Tracy Anderson’s workouts every.single.day.

Wish me luck. And if you are feeling generous, maybe send an oxygen tank and some bionic limbs my way, ’cause her workouts are way harder than they look.

I am really really looking forward to April – quite aside from Easter, which is that magical time of the year when you have a good excuse to eat chocolate to your heart’s content (giving Christmas a run for its money in the title for “most wonderful time of the year”, if you ask me), this year April will also bring a weekend in London with my best friend, a weekend when my husband will be taking care of the girls and cook and all, something he didn’t object to at all, because he is awesome like that. In fact, he is just generally awesome and supportive and patient (gotta be patient to be married to me, I tell you) and I often alternate between wondering how I landed such a great guy and congratulating myself for it. So I have decided that

2. This month (or at least what’s left of it) I will refrain from nagging and/or bitching and/or snapping at my husband entirely.

If I can handle not eating chocolate for a month I can certainly reign in my temper and refuse to let my inner bitch out in the open.

Mind you, this resolution is limited to my husband. Mostly because he deserves it, bust also ’cause I have my limits.

The weather is still kind of awful here, but spring is coming – and with it, that long-awaited/dreaded tradition that is Spring Cleaning. Since so far I haven’t stuck to any of my household related resolutions (thereby confirming my status as a full-fledged undomestic goddess) I feel like I should at least make a little effort, so

3. This month I will declutter one room in our apartment.

Most likely the bedroom, so that I can make room for the spring wardrobe. What – a girl’s gotta find motivation somewhere, right?

But enough about me. What have you been up to? Any plans for this month?
