It’s fun to be Kreativ!

:-) I got this award from my fellow Swiss expat and bloggy friend Linda, and a while back from the lovely Erin– thank you ladies! The rules dictate that I:

So here we go….
1. NAME YOUR FAVORITE SONG:  Eeek! Just one?? ok, ehm…  lately I have been listening to Keane’s Under The Sea album, and have had A Bad Dream on repeat a few times. So let’s take that for today’s favorite, though I reserve the right to choose a new favorite in a few days! This is a really great song however, so if you want to check it out you can

2. NAME YOUR FAVORITE DESSERT: again, just one? I have a major sweet tooth, I could name a few… right now I’d have to say tiramisù. The proper one, with mascarpone and liquor and savoiardi biscuits, not pale imitations or worse, those pathetic “let’s play fusion” versions with mango or something.

Why mess with a good thing??


3. WHAT TICKS ME OFF: people who are full of themselves.
4. WHEN I’M UPSET I: crave chocolate cake, want to be alone, can use a nice walk in the countryside.
5. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PET: dogs. I am not a cat person.
6. BLACK OR WHITE: black.
7. BIGGEST FEAR: Losing my family. And snakes.
8. EVERYDAY ATTITUDE: Whatever the modern-gal spin on “The hills are alive with the sound of music” is ;-)
9. WHAT IS PERFECTION? Loving deeply and knowing you are loved in return.
10. GUILTY PLEASURE: watching shows like “The Secret Circle” and “Little Liars”.
SEVEN RANDOM THINGS ABOUT ME:
1. I haven’t cut my hair really short since I was very young. The shortest I’ve had it since was an angled bob in 2009.
2. I don’t have TV connection at home, on purpose. It’s easier to keep our TV watching in check and to be more discerning (except for guilty pleasures, see above.) I watch some stuff online, buy our favorites on DVD and a lot of stuff… I simply don’t watch it.
3. Which I could live without TV, I coulnd’t live without books. I am an avid and voracious reader and I like a lot of different genres; I’ll be reading chick lit one day, then follow it with a classic, then follow that with a nutrition book or a travel book.
4. I hate the way I sound son the phone. My voice sounds like I’m about 12 years old.
5. I haven’t had chewing gum for nearly 8 years.
6. I hate going to the dentist. Like, really hate it.
7. As much as I miss New York and love the East Coast, California will always have a piece of my heart and I would really, really love to live in San Francisco!

We interrupt the scheduled programming to bring you…

… a little award I got from a lovely local expat logger, Emma, who also happens to be a fellow book worm ;-)  – in fact Emma and I met a few months ago at the book swap, so unlike what usually happens with bloggers, we met in real life before we started reading each other’s blogs :-)

Thank you Emma, for this award!

As with most awards, it comes with rules:
1. link up to the blogger who gave you the award (check)
2. share 7 random facts about yourself
3. give the award to at least 5 bloggers, preferably ones you have recently discovered (full disclosure: I changed this rule a bit, it said 15 before!)

So here come the 7 random facts:

1. My favorite color is purple.

2. If Sarah had been a boy she would have been named Christopher; Stella would have been named Logan.

3. I don’t often drink alcohol, but when I do it’s usually white wine (Pinot Grigio works, but I am partial to a good Chardonnay) or a margarita (occasionally a cosmo or a mojito.) Yes, I am a total girl. Bite me.

4. I have been thinking about getting a tattoo for over 10 years. Never ended up getting one because:
a. I couldn’t  make up my mind about what I wanted, and
b. I get bored easily so a permanent mark didn’t seem like a good idea.

5. I am very indiscriminate in my reading tastes: I read novels, chick lit, biographies, health/nutrition manuals, comics, you name it.  But you can bet I have opinions about every book I read!

6. If I could live anywhere in the world, San Francisco would be a strong contender.

7. I haven’t had chewing gum in about 10 years.
