I want it all

sang the Queen. And this is exactly how I feel about the upcoming Target collaboration with Jason Wu.

I could tell you how talented I think he is, and how every time I see one of his designs I just mentally drool all over the place.
I could tell you how awesome it was to see some of his creations and him, in the flesh, last year at the Zurich Fashion Days.
I could tell you how I marvel at his ability to design clothes that look incredibly chic and amazingly wearable at the same time.

But I think I will simply show you a few pieces from the collection he designed for Target, instead – and let you be the judge.

Every piece in the collection will be priced between $20 and $60, and will be for sale in Target stores starting on February 5th. Now, this is one collab I would simply hate to miss, so I might have to beg one of my friends in the US to grab a few pieces for me!

How about you? Does anything here strike your fancy?

OOTW: a hint of sparkle

by Elisa on November 18, 2011

Blame it on Pinterest or on The Girls With Glasses, but sequins and shimmery things have really grown on me in the past few months. I have been looking at and craving all sorts of shimmery, sparkly, plastered-with-sequins items that I never would have considered wearing a few years ago – not outside of a Holiday party, that is.

But with the weather in Zurich being as grey and gloomy as it has been for the past few weeks, a little bit of sparkle seemed like just what the doctor ordered.

So for my book swap this week, I reached for a pale gray-and-silver sweater that I had bought a few years ago and had only worn a couple of times, and grounded it with a black skirt and my new biker boots… then added some purple, just for fun.

A hint of sparkle

Over it I wore the navy military coat I got last year from Dorothy Perkins, slung my studded bucket bag over my shoulder, and out I went.

Odd as it may sounds, it did improve my mood! Not to mention how much fun it is to wear something sparkly outside of a special occasion, just because. I think I need to shop for more sparkle to add to my outfits. For starters, I’m thinking this oversized sequined clutch:

How cute would it look with dark wash skinnies, ankle boots, and a big scarf? Love how inappropriate it would look to wear this in Zurich during the day ;-)

Next up: how about a classic sequin tank, worn over a thin turtleneck, like a vest?

Or maybe you’d prefer something barely noticeable… like a glitter heel on a classic casual boot?

Ah, I think I have gone mad for sparkle! You no doubt by now think I have lost my marbles to all that is shiny and glittery.

But tell me, in truth… wouldn’t a hint of sparkle be a fun touch to help you brighten up your day?
