We are off to Italy again, in the morning.
I am really excited about this trip, both because I simply adore this couple and I am so very happy that they are tying the knot, and because I have never been to Veneto. Of course, even in the midst of all the excitement, we are still planning to sneak away to spend one day in Venice – can’t be that close and not visit, right?
It took me forever to figure out what to wear, since I am not a “cocktail dress” gal.
I ended up ordering this dress in two colors and I am bringing both – one for the wedding reception and the other for the day-after lunch. As for the girls, I got them some cute summer dresses that weer pretty enough and a bit dressier than usual, but also in soft fabrics that are comfortable to move around in. In the end our wedding outfits are going to look more or less like this:
This outfit also gives my Lauren Merkin clutch the chance to finally see the light of day, instead of laying unseen and unappreciated in its dust bag! About time, since I have had it for three or four years.
I am still deciding what to do with our hair, especially mine since the hair curler I ordered didn’t arrive, so I will either try to follow along with this tutorial (shhh, don’t judge!) and try to get a wavy do with my flat iron, or (more likely) pop into a local salon for a blow-out before the wedding.
What are you up to? have you attended any weddings this spring yet? If you are about to, check out this table etiquette cheat sheet, and check out my favorite wedding guest outfits here, here, and here.
Alright, I am off to bed. Won’be able to post for a few days, but I promise I will return with some Venice pics to share!
