Pinspiration: raw deliciousness

If you follow me on Instagram or we are friends on Facebook, you may have noticed that in addition to drinking a daily #greensmoothie again, I also have been #dabblingwithraw.

In an effort to handle a little hiccup in my health and well-being recently, I started increasing the quantity of raw food I consume on a a daily basis, and lowering my intake of animal protein. I have eliminated refined grains and dairy and plan to stick to that for the foreseeable future, and it has all added up to a healing process that took two weeks instead of the two months it might have taken with the usual recommendation. Seeing as I am not the most patient person, that was enough to impress me.

But I am still a hedonist when it comes to food, and there is no way I would ever be able to stick to something the required me to eat tasteless, bland, boring food. Nope.

Which is where Pinterest comes in. Until my copy of Mimi Kirk’s cookbook arrives, I am looking to Pinterest for inspiration… and as usual, I was not disappointed:

Raw Cranberry Bliss Bars from This Rawsome Vegan Life

Raw taco salad with cashew sour cream, from Raw On $10 A Day

Raw Chocolate Mini Tarts, from 86 Lemons

Falafel & Hummus Wrap with Mediterranean “Roasted” Vegetables, from The Raw Chef

Raw Carrot Cake Bites, from The Sweet Life Online

Of course I am not recommending eating desserts all the time – but as you can see, raw food doesn’t exactly equal deprivation ;-)

What do you think? Have you experimented or are you experimenting with raw food? Would you?
Which one of these recipes sounds best to you?

I love all of these Elisa. Good luck with the raw food idea, it certainly doesn’t have to be boring.

I wish I had your motivation and inspiration! One day I will get to the green smoothies. In the meantime I still need to clean my blender.

Sigh.
