Fall is here. Kind of.
I don’t know how it is in your corner of the woods, but here the weather has been a bit of a tease. The temperature drops, the rain starts falling, you start thinking it’s time to take your cardis out of the wardrobe and put that cute trench to good use.
And then the sun starts shining again, and by the time midday rolls around you have long shed your cardi and are wishing you had worn sandals.
And then there are days like today, when the rain and chilly temperature are more persistent, and stick around long enough to make you want to bury all your sandals and ballet flats at the bottom of the dresser.
What is a girl to do?
Personally, I am this close to tossing my sandals out the window and dusting off my trusted ankle boots. Surely ankle boots do not scream winter as much as knee-high boots do, right?
Besides, you can wear them with everything: with your skinny jeans tucked in, under your black pants, or pair them with that summer dress you are not ready to let go of – and you don’t have to, just pop a cardigan over it! – is there a pair of shoes that is quite that uncomplicated? (and don’t say pumps. Pfft. We are not playing dress the librarian here. Besides, pumps aren’t great under the rain, are they?)
So there I am, looking longingly at my boots… and then it occurs to me that they’d probably love some company… some siblings, if you will.

From the right, top to bottom: 1. & 2. ALDO Cedrina glitter boots, $120 • 3. Dirty Laundry Showstopper studded boot, $85 • 4. MANGO suede Buckles ankle boot, £89.99 • 5. Luxury Rebel Regina buckle booties, $195 • 6. Jeffrey Campbell France slouchy boot in Navy, $198 (if you’d prefer it without the heel, go for the Brit instead) • 7. Sam Edelman Dalton wedge boot in Burgundy, $225 • 8. ASOS Alliance ankle boots, $147
These all made the short list, but 1, 6 and 8 are the clear favorites.

My vote is for the preppy ones!
The top two are simply amazing and they would look oh-so sassy with jeans:) Happy day, lovely. xo
We must be on the same wavelength or something…I featured glitter in the back booties (like the ALDO’s) on Cafe Fashionista today!
My vote is for the Jeffrey Campbell France. I actually have them on my wish list too, and hope to buy them soon! They are gorgey!!
Even though I have approximately 2394203432 pairs of boots, I need more. I always need more.

Love those fairy dust ones!
The two top ones for sure!!
) hehe!
Many years ago now, I had the PERFECT boots called “Pallenberg” from Whyred (these, but in black: http://bloggar.expressen.se/modebloggen/wp-content/blogs.dir/90/files/2012/02/whyred.jpg ) and I never managed to find anything like them since…..so I never really feel satisfied with any boots these days.
…and yes, teasing is the word for the weather! ….but now that I set my mind on it being fall, I do the opposite vs. what I do in summer: Stay inside when it’s hot and only go out when it’s cooler
xo
so the ones with the arrow that says ‘w/o hardware’…i bought a super similar pair at zara and i am in love with them. i got them last year and have already worn them several times this year and i think they just go with every single thing!
:)
p.s. do you know which store on bahnhofstrasse sells Nars lipsticks??? p.s.s. i’m loving my lavera products
I quite like the wicked witch gone rocker one!
I love the blue JC pair. They are so unusual. I bought two new pairs of boots during the Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale, and I am dying to push them out. The weather is warm here in Sept and Oct, so it may be a while.

I need new boots! Though I get so discouraged looking for a good solid pair because it’s so hot outside and it just doesn’t feel right wearing boots.
Just figured out you live in Zurich.
Major blog fail of mine. I miss Switzerland.
Though it’s still very hot here in the days, women are wearing tights, and some are even weraing boots. (To be honest, leggings under skirts were a big trend all siummer, so tights aren’t a far stretch.) Love the selection of boots, but especially the fair dust.
Same weather here: chilly mornings, nice afternoons, chilly evenings, so actually I gotta change 2 times a day
And yes, ankle boots are THE solution! You’re showing some great pairs!
Have a lovely (sunny?) Sunday!!
Sam Edelman Dalton wedge boots are awesome:)
Hey Elisa! Since I was born with glitter in my veins…those boots are callin’ my name!! LOVE them! Of course, with each year that passes…and the illness I deal with…walking is not as easy for me anymore! I would have a bit of trouble with heels like that…as much as I positively ADORE them!! I also love the ladylike, but still able to walk in ones!! And number 8! Time to give in!! Go for it girl!!
Have a great day!
xo

I am really wanting a short pair of botties too, just haven’t found any that are calling my name. =)
Hi, I’m back! Well, the weather in my neck of the woods is HEAT, HEAT, HEAT! Summer doesn’t seem to want to leave!
I’d vote for 1 and 8.
Love boot #5!
