Budget-friendly summer fashion: 10 flat sandals for $50 and under

by Elisa on June 24, 2012

in shoes!!!,shopping,summer

flat sandals for $50 or less
From the right, top to bottom: H&M, $17.95 • ASOS, $41.43 • ASOS, $29.83 • Pierre Dumas, $25 • DV by Dolce Vita, $44.99 (orig. $69) • N.Y.L.A., $39.95 • ASOS, $29.83 • ASOS, $46.40 • Lauren by Ralph Lauren, $39.99 • Miss Selfridge, $44

I’m going to confess something. I ordered this cute pair of flat sandals to replace my Pacha at the end of last summer, but my wide feet just won’t fit in them. Which is when I decided that I was just going to make do with my many wedges, ’cause let’s face it, I already have too many shoes.

However, after a day exploring Bern in the heat it occurred to me that trying to go through summer without a cute pair of flat sandals is… how can I put it gently? Let’s say ever so slightly insane. The compromise: I’ll allow myself a new pair of flat sandals, if I can find something cute under $50. Judging from the above, I’d say mission accomplished. Now, for the truly tough job: picking only one!

Which one gets your vote?

I’d go for any of the thong sandals. The ball of my foot is a bit wide, and I find that any strappy sandal, like a gladiator sandal, pinches my toes too much. It took me over 2 years of “breaking in” my Palladium Key Largo sandals to be able to tolerate wearing them a full day. The next time I buy flat sandals, they will be thongs!

I love the boho flats! Fabulous sandals, I really think they´re summer essentials. :)

They’re all great choices! I’ve actually been eyeing the Dolce Vita ones for months now :) xoxo

All of them are so cute! But my first pick is the Miss Selfridge gold/turquoise. Second is the Pierre Dumas.

Hi Elisa, I cannot wear heels now, since I broke my ankle, but I am sure I could manage a low wedge, I now have so many flatties, but would like a little height :-)

Great picks! I’d have to go with the Ralph Lauren sandals myself. :)
