OOTW: who said beige is boring, anyway?

Yeah… that would be me. Whoops. Mind you, beige can be boring. It is entirely possible to make neutrals boring – beige by no means has the exclusive on that, you can also do it with black, navy and grey.

I used to think people who wear beige are no fun. What I have realized however is that beige actually enables you to have more fun! Quirky accessories, loud patterns, bright colors? Pair them with beige, and you are toning them down just enough to make them oh, so wearable!

For instance, I tend not to wear gold jewelry much. Next to my olive skin it feels too… kitsch. But pair a couple of gold pieces (even something quirky like these owl earrings) with beige, and – surprise! – the effect is nicely understated (and yet, not boring!)

OOTW: who said beige is boring, anyway?

Lesson learned. So much so in fact, that I have already indulged in a little more non-boring beige.

How about you? What’s your take on this neutral shade?

I do beige especially paired with black. It tends to work with my olive skin. Also been wearing a lot more gold than usual. Loving these shoes :) xoxo

I like beige a lot, but I kinda run away from it because I am blonde and I always thought it makes me look pale, and I would always pick colors instead. Until I found this great pair of beige shoes that go with everything and that look great. So now I am looking for a lot more beige in my wardrobe, and a purse would be nice :)

LOVE the way you’ve used beige in this ensemble! It is actually one of my favorite neutral shades as it tends to match EVERYTHING! :)

I think it must be a Swiss thing. A friend of mine used to describe how the Swiss were good at “beige in beige” and therefore terribly boring. Both of us have since revised this statement. Your post just prooves this. Love the combination. I would looove some of your advise when I go shopping in Paris. Sono completamente perduta, non so neanche dove incominciare….if ever you come to Paris, let me know! ;) Bisou.

Any and all neutrals are great when you want to go mad with the accessorizing :-) I also love beige with a bright jacket, say orange, blue, pink or even green.

Hmmn, ’tis a tricky colour. Really doesn’t work with my skin tone, makes me look totally washed out. I like it though!

Beige is actually dull if there’s no other colorful additions. But beige looks clean and simple.

I love it. It can really pop when it’s paired with the right colors.
