The latest collaboration between Sonia Rykiel and H&M will be launched in 200 stores worldwide on February 20th, 2010 – but it was already unveiled on the H&M website today.

The collection is pretty large: it includes women’s clothes as well as accessories and girl’s clothes. The collaboration also produced a lingerie collection that was introduced in Paris in what was without a doubt the fashion event of the year outside of fashion week, with the fashion show actually taking the shape of a parade, and a huge Moulin Rouge-themed scenography (take a peek here). The presentation was absolutely amazing (and I really wish I could have been there! hint, hint, Swiss H&M peeps) but I chose not to purchase any of the lingerie.

The knitwear and clothing collection, however, I really like and I’m planning to be there to get some pieces when the collection is unveiled.

My favorite pieces:

The striped sweater. It also comes in yellow/white and it'a available in girl's sizes, too.The adult version is priced at $29.95The striped sweater. It also comes in yellow/white and it’a available in girl’s sizes, too.The women’s version is priced at $29.95.

The rosette sweater, which reminds me of the Valentino Petale bags :-) . The sweater also comes in black, and it’s priced at $34.95/€29,95.

The dress with rosette applique on the strap.
I love that this is one of those dresses you can easily wear year-round, layering pieces in the colder seasons, on bare skin in warmer weather.
The dress is also available in hot pink and it comes in girls’ sizes too. It retails for $49.95/€39,95.

The striped stockings. Also available in girls’ sizes. Priced at $12.95/€9,95.

The rosette headband. It also comes in black and it retails for $17.95/€14,95.

The collection also includes a variety of striped and embellished sweaters, a few more dresses, leggings, a couple of skirts and shorts with matching blazers; plus an accessory line including scarves, hats, bangles and a few more items, including a pair of wedges, that come in two colors. The girl’s collection mostly mimics the women’s (only with less pieces), but you know how everything is cuter when it’s in children sizes :-)

Overall the collection is reasonably priced, with most items priced between $29 and $69. Definitely worth checking out!

Why did you find the undies collection overwhelming?

I SOOOO wish there was an H&M in Texas! I’d drive any amount of time to get there!

I miss H&M! But I need their +sized stuff, so I don’t know if this collection would work for me. That Rosette sweater is beautiful, but would probably be problematic for, uhm, mah girls. ;)

I LOVEEEE the black dress with the rose! I wonder if I can actually make it to H&M without wanting to kill myself and manage to get the dress! I had wanted the SR striped night gown to go with my SR comfort and bed sheets but they were sold out the first day. Then, of course, I visit the States and they still had it. I am afraid to tell you what I heard, however, in the H&Ms in Philadelphia. Customers asking (butchering her name) “who is SR?” and cringing at the response from the sales associate “oh she’s apparently a pretty famous European lingerie designer, I think she’s from Spain”. SMACK!

Oooh, those tights and that black dress on me and my daughter at the same time. That would be fun! (Or sad. Yes. Probably sad. Nevermind.)

I am in love with that black dress but for the life of me have no idea where I would wear it. Maybe I should buy it anyway and then use that as an excuse to make my husband take me somewhere nice, or to Paris…But I definately want the tights!

LOVE anything with strips for my little Mayhem Maker – and that dress with the rosette on the strap is just darling. I might have to check that out – because with a bright colored cropped cardigan, it might be just the perfect dress for a wedding I need to attend in June.

Great post – Thanks!

Yep, the black dress is my favorite too! It would never fit me, but I like it just the same!! My daughter would look fabulous in it!
