I know I’m not alone when I admit I am somewhat Resolution-challenged.
Not that I have any trouble coming up with a list of things to do – oh no, that’s never an issue. The issue is that I task myself with things that REALLY need to be tackled to get done, because I’m not happy with smaller goals, because I’m an “all-or-nothing” person. Add to that the fact that I’m basically a champion procrastinator, and that I have a little brat and a bigger “sometimes”-brat to distract me, and the never-ending NYC-nostalgia to take away any spark of motivation I can gather some days, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. If by disaster we mean “not a bloody thing getting done”. So there you have it.
In an effort to handle this, and inspired by a project a bunch of bloggers did recently, I have decided to do monthly resolutions, and compile them in an inspiration board at the beginning of each month, right here for everyone to see. I’m hoping that the graphics and the smaller time frame will help me keep focused and inspired, and that posting it here will make me feel accountable for actually getting the stuff done.
Also, I recently saw a brilliant video on another expat’s blog, on how to have more fun. And, well, adding pretty pictures and making a virtual collage of sorts definitely adds fun to setting goals, don’t you think?
What was the video, you ask? Why, you can see it with you own eyes:
