Stella McCartney for Adidas, Spring 2010

I haven’t talked about spring yet. I’m not even done updating my wardrobe for winter, the snow is still on the ground, and spring feels so far here in Switzerland, where January and February are when the temperature really drops, when it snows more than the rest of the year combined.

And yet… be it because I’m in a better mood these days, and I like to think Spring isn’t so far after all… or maybe because I bought the last issue of Italian Grazia and it had all the Spring collections on… or maybe just because I got the go-ahead to start exercising again and I’m starting with yoga! Be it as it may, the first Spring collection that really caught my eye is, oddly enough, one made entirely of exercise clothes. But not your run-of-the-mill stretchy stuff and sweatpants: these are the kind of clothes you’ll want to wear in and out of the gym, whether the gym is you destination or not.

My best friend, who has been a convert of this collaboration line for years, recently confessed to me that her wardrobe contains little else. “When you become a mom and you want to dress more comfortably, you either become a slob or you find clothes you can look good in while still being really comfortable” she said to me. These would definitely fit the bill, wouldn’t they?

Items from the Stella McCartney for  Adidas collection are priced $45-300 and they are available at select Adidas and sport stores, as well as online at the Adidas online shop, Net-a-porterZappos Couture and Nordstrom.

I love the idea of clothes made of exercise clothes, and the colors are great. I wonder where they sell them here? And how pricey they are? They’re super cute, for sure.

So glad you’re feeling better and more like yourself!

Now this is the kind of outfit I can really get behind. I have been known to wear my workout clothes all day after a long run, although I try to avoid this scenario needing a shower and all. With these fashionable workout clothes, I really could wear them all day.

What do the price tags look like? I assume expensive. :)

Alecia – I have edited the post to include price ranges and online shops. I hope that helps.

I love this stuff! I’m not even a mom, but just living in New York and walking everywhere makes me want to downsize my collection of heels and otherwise fab-yet-uncomfortable stuff. Those flats and that red vest are so adorable!

Okay, that’s pretty cute stuff that even *I* could wear. Expensive, I assume?

I have a hard time getting into spring clothes when it is still so cold. And will continue to be cold for months. I want immediate gratification and if I can’t wear them at least within a couple of weeks, I can’t get excited.

I really like those ballerina shoes, though! Are they just for wearing or are they supposed to be exercisey?

Believe me, I understand! It’s still snowing here. But I saw these, and I couldn’t resist :-)

I’m not sure if the ballerinas are supposed to be for yoga/pilates or if they are just slip-ons for after classes, but they are soooo cute, aren’t they? And at $100, they are not too steep.

Wow – I REALLY have a hard time imagining those as comfortable clothing in which to exercise. Cute though! :D

OMG, look at those white pants! Do they come in a smaller size? Because I have a rack of lamb that would love to wear them.

I LOVE your friend’s comment. That quote should be my motto. Except I doubt the stuff you’re posting would fit on this body o’mine. And working out, well, maybe if I had some cool clothing like this I’d actually DO it, Ah, who am I kidding. Maybe not. Sigh …
