I love window shopping. But it’s been pretty damn cold here, not to mention the sidewalks were slippery from the sleet and I risked breaking my new a few times in the past 2 weeks. Add to that the fact that some of my favorite stores do not exist in Zurich (or Switzerland in general) and you see why sometimes the online version of window shopping just has to do, in a pinch.
While browsing though the Sephora website (have I mentioned how much I miss Sephora?), I noticed a cute little set, with a catchy name: the Walk of Shame set.

The set is by Too Faced, and the cute little lingerie-inspired pouch contains:
- a colorless face primer
- a colorless eye shadow primer
- a compact with eye shadows and bronzer
- a nude lipstick
- a travel toothbrush
- mints
Basically, all you need to look fresh-faced in a cinch when you find yourself away from home, possibly after a long night out. Hence the name.
Why am I bothering with this at all? Aren’t I married? (I can read your thoughts from all the way over here. I know, spooky.)
Well, I may not be one for Walks of Shame, however it occurred to me that this set would also be perfect to take on a long flight, say, like the one I’ll be taking when I go to New York later this year (you call it wishful thinking, I call it positive thinking. Potato, potahto.)
Have you ever been on a transatlantic flight? They are looong. Less so if you are lucky enough to be flying Business or First Class, but that doesn’t happen super often to normal people, does it? Which means that at the end of the flight you might visit the tiny restroom and possibly have to staple your mouth shut to keep from screaming at your – ehm! – slightly scary appearance because of sleeping sitting up and all. Yikes.
Enter this cute little set: brush your teeth and hair, wash your face, apply the primers and then make good use of the elegant, understated nude makeup, then leave the tiny restroom looking like you had a semi-decent night of sleep and are an experienced, relaxed traveler, a citizen of the world really, barely touched by long flights through several time zones. Or, you know, at least you don’t look like this:

So yes. I will be grabbing one of these.
The set retails for $38 and is available at Sephora stores as well as online, Amazon.com, and of course at Too Faced. (They also have it at Urban Outfitters, but it’s $45 there. Pfffft.)

This is fantastic! I’m going to Sephora this week and getting one! With the new job, I’ll be spending some nights away from home, but I didn’t want to tote my entire makeup bag. This will be perfect!
I have to admit, part of the fun of living in a college town is driving through town early in the morning, especially on weekends, and seeing people do the walk of shame. It shouldn’t amuse me this much, but it DOES!

Where’d you get that picture of me ? I was sure I’d destroyed all copies!
Love Sephora and Too Faced.
That set is fantastic! And I know what you mean about flights (especially longer ones….I won’t even go into overnight ones. YIKES). Even when I do sit in First, somehow I end up all greasy-looking and gross. Thank goodness for kleenex so I can blot the ickiness away! (I never take the warm towels….I dunno, that’ll just wipe ALL traces of makeup away, and what a PITA when you’re sitting five inches from someone you don’t know).
Sure you don’t do the walk o’ shame;-) Tall tales – literally.
I’m going to South America in a few and was just thinking this evening how glad I was that I chopped my hair off to avoid that greasy hair that comes after hours of flying. Now, I better get to my face.
Thanks for helping to pep up the personalization of my space. I just finished it and am, after frustration, beaming!

Never heard of a “thing” called Too Faced but I could name plenty of people in this town that go by that name.
Hey Elisa,
I like this…I will have try & get one some how here in Oz. I know those of you in North America on long plane flights. Travelling from Australia to the Northern Hemisphere is a loooong flight, I’m talking nearly 24 hours & some times more..
I’m thinking of visiting NYC in May, though might have to do a stop first in LA or San Fran.
cheers

We all could use some help up here in the mountains.
You’ve got me thinking that I need to do a little more than just mascara!!

Gosh I thought Sephora was EVERYWHERE.
Great little bag, must get one. Although traveling with 2 kids under 4 proves to be quite difficult. When the flight is over I usually look as if a giant squirrel attacked my head.

I haven’t been to Sephora in forever. It’s my own fault…it’s just down the road. I’m such a slacker:P

I find that I wait to put on my makeup at the last possible moment. Like in this situation, I would likely not bother putting on makeup for the flight, because I want to be comfortable and who cares what the people on the plane thing? I’d put on a full face an hour before getting off the plane. I wouldn’t waste it all on sitting on an airplane.
LOL
OH, how I love me some Too Faced. Cute idea!
