Inspire me pretty

I am uninspired. Yes, I have mostly stopped taking myself too seriously, but still, I am uninspired. Or rather, I get inspired and then I start second-guessing myself and get all controlling and obsessive and dump my post in the draft folder, never to be seen again. Silly.

I don’t like myself uninspired. I dress boring. I don’t feel like putting makeup on. Being uninspired makes me uglier. As if the lack of inspiration wasn’t bad enough.

So I have been thinking of what inspires me. Friends make me feel better, less self-conscious. A walk clears my head, unless it’s all grey and drizzly outside like today. A good book relaxes me. But really, there is only one thing that inspires me: beauty. It can be a view, a gorgeous pair of shoes or a painting, no matter. It’s like it wakes me up, it’s like coffee for the soul (or something less silly, along those lines.)

So today I decided to visit flickr and search for beautiful things, and share them with you. ’cause I don’t know if beauty inspires you too, but it sure beats a kick in the shin ;-)

So here are a few things that make me happy, just looking at them:

vintage teacups, that make me wish I was more girly and had real tea parties

... and other pretty, colorful things

… and I already feel better.

How about you? What inspires you? What makes you happy?

Couldn’t agree more. Photos of flowers, nature, landscapes, oceans, etc. are inspiring to me as well. I think that’s why I am enjoying crafting so much, getting back in touch with artistic things and beauty. Nice pictures and nice post. Thanks for sharing!

Oh my goodness those are gorgeous photos. Very inspiring indeed! I think laughing with my husband, while drinking prosecco, and the little one is tucked in bed is just about a perfect way to spend an evening.

That third photo is just mesmerizing!

Ah, what gorgeous pictures! My eyes are happy with all of the color!

Learning new things inspire me and make me happy. This is why I love to converse, read, travel and drink wine (my mind seems so much more open to learning while drinking. :) )

Ah! A kick in the shin is the worst! ;)

I am inspired by going on vacation. I love being a tourist – even if it’s just in the next village! Everything is so fascinating, and it’s like I am seeing the world with new eyes…

Also, finished products are very inspiring. Like, if I create a piece of jewelry that I am really proud of, I feel compelled to create another – it creates a momentum (unfortunately, I get easily distracted). Or, my face all done up with make-up. I’m like, “Hey, look how cute I am. I should do this more often!”

I am with you! As a photographer, perusing flickr totally does it for me sometimes. And there is nothing silly about coffee for the soul. That is totally what it is like. Also, believe it or not, reading blogs. Totally lifts my spirits.

Wherever that last place is, I want to go there. That would inspire me. So does seeing a gorgeous dress I can’t fit into…and great blogs like yours.
