Nice way to be welcomed to the country! Why do the Belgians never do that for me?

So what’s the dominant language in your house? Switzerland is trilingual, right? But I don’t think Italian is one of them ;) So cool…

Switzerland has 4 national languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh. My husband was born on the German-speaking part of Switzerland, so German is his mother tongue, the language he speaks with the girls. I speak Italian with them. My husband and I speak English. We get a lot of flack for that, because other people find it confusing. It works for us, because we each speak our mother language with the girls and we have always spoken English to each other, before we even started going out, since we met in LA.

So I guess the short answer is: there is no dominant language in my house, unless of course you consider the amount of talking done in each language, in which case it would be Italian, since I’m definitely more chatty than my husband is ;-)

If I recall correctly, when I got home my kid handed me a peach. At least it was ripe.
It was great to meet you too. I really miss it already. I truly cannot wait until next year

That looks beautiful! I can’t believe you are in another country. Although, given that I am in the South and you were in NY we might as well have been in different countries. I am amazed that you made it to BlogHer in the midst of a move. Go You!
