And I don’t have a cleaner because I’m too chickenshit to try a stranger. I say go for it. Worst case? You get robbed or something. At least there’s a chance your house will be clean. No, really, I sympathise.

I want to sympathize with marinka, because I love her, but I can’t because: sob, my fabulous cleaning guy is out of town for five weeks. what do I do? hire someone temporarily? live in filth and pay him double when he returns? how dare he take a vacation?

I had a cleaner quit on me after 2 weeks because she ‘just couldn’t get a handle on all the dog hair’. Even though I’d told her, clearly, that we had a dog that sheds a LOT.

Meh. I like the ones I have now better anyway.

The closest I can get to relating to this is when my teen son talked the neighborhood little ones into raking the yard for him. Hilarious! I am fearful of new cleaners, too… you get to know your cleaner so well and it’s scary when they quit of find other work, seriously! GODO LUCK! Go with her friend, I’m sure she’s just as good!
