cool_finds2009Between BlogHer and the move shortly after, this month was crazy, which I hope explains why the Cool Finds post is so late (but being back-dated, to show up with the corresponding month in the archives). I hope these finds make it worth the wait :-)

Retro Fridays at Luna Boston! Each Friday for the rest of the summer, LunaBoston will offer the hottest designer and styles at prices so low, they could only be from days gone by ;-) Find gorgeous handbags and accessories at 45%-75% by visiting the Retro Fridays page on Luna Boston every Friday and see what’s new. And of course you’ll still get free shipping on all orders $100 and above.

My daughter Sarah’s latest obsession: Harumika. It’s a simple fashion creation game: each package contains a miniature dress form, several swatches in colors and patterns that work well with each other and matching accessories. I love that it’s made in such a way that it can be reused lots of times and you don’t need scissors or needles to play with it, making it perfect for both my girls! Available at Toys are Us, the Style Starter Set is priced at $10.99 and upwards. And the girls can upload their creations online and create their own fashion shows. Have I mentioned Sarah is slightly obsessed with it?

Ever wished you could be like one of those people on posters, doing Yoga in nature, somewhere with a beautiful scenery? Lucky New Yorkers can now enjoy a new class from Outdoor Bound: the High Ridge Hike and Yoga excursion kicks off at 9AM with a ride out to the Hudson Valley, where you’ll get started on your calorie-burning, butt-shaping six mile trek. Once you reach the top, catch a (ujiay) breath and enjoy an hour and a half of restorative yoga, while enjoying breathtaking views. The cost, including transportation, is $69. (via VitalJuice)

Love those edgy stilettos but can’t imagine wearing them to the office or parent-teacher’s conference? Get some shoe jewelry to pimp those basic pumps and find your inner rock chick. (via DailyCandy)

Even if you don’t watch Project Runway, you will probably love the collection designed by the winner of the last season of the show, Leanne Marshall. Leanne’s collection bacame available earlier this month on Bluefly, where you can score  her chic and whimsical pieces, made eco-friendly materials, 20% off!

Another fabulous line: Alice + Olivia’s Fall Collection Preview is available for purchase at Bergdorf Goodman. I love, love LOVE the Slouchy Chain Necklace top and the Flower Print Tie Dress!

Still kidding yourself that you don’t eat a lot of sugar? You might change your mind when you see hou much sugar is in the foods you buy. A new website, Sugar Stacks, shows you the exact quantity of sugar in your favorite foods using a stack of sugar  cubes. That energy bar right there? 5 sugar cubes baby! Ooops.

For some reason Gwyneth Paltrow got a lot of criticism when she started Goop. I subscribe to her newsletter and I think she (and whoever is helping her compile them) is doing a good job. In the July 2 issue she shared lots of great products to help us “green” our lifestyle without making really drastic changes – making it probably my favorite Goop issue to date. You can see all of Gwyneth’s eco-friendly tips here.

I don’t blame Sarah for liking that toy/game. No wonder she likes it so much when she has a mom with great taste!
