Stamp of approval: the perfect blush

What do you want to see when you look in the mirror? What do you want people to think when they look at your face?

If you are anything like me, the words “effortlessly radiant” come to mind. Clear complexion, healthy color, best feature highlighted but not in an obnoxious way, like your gorgeous eyes or your perfectly pouty lips just pop up and draw the eyes to themselves.

You never want to look in the mirror and think “Ugh, I look like a drag queen” (no offense, but their makeup isn’t exactly subtle) or for people to look at you and think “Hello, 80s flashback”.

One of the tools you need to achieve the perfect, effortlessly radiant look is the right blush. I know what you are thinking: there is no right blush, it depends from one’s coloring and also *gasp* ehm…. her budget.

And you know what? You are right. Sort of. because I found a blush that will look fabulous on virtually all skin tones, and it won’t break the bank. Even better, the company producing it guarantees the purity of all its products, and the blush is part of their mineral makeup line, which means a little goes a long way, so it will also last you a while.

So where if this paragon of perfection? It’s the Dianthus shade by Alima Pure. I actually found it thanks to their habit to include 3 free samples in each order, and I fell in love with it immediately, so I ordered a full-size one.

The Dianthus is included in the category they named “Luminous Shimmer Blush”, which is a part of the reason why it’s so flattering. The blushes in this category have a hint of shimmer, which means that:

1. a little goes a long way

2. you can use it in much the same way as you’d use a bronzer, a little all over your face.

Bare Minerals calls this type of blush “all-over face color”, and they recommend using it, as I said above, like you would a bronzer.

So the shimmer in this shade doesn’t make it tacky, but very flattering, giving that “radiant” quality we are going for. Add to that the perfect color of the Dianthus, a cool pink with a hint of gold, and you can see why it’s going to be flattering to both cool and warm skin tones.

If you don’t want to take my word for it, you can easily see for yourself: order a trial-size pot of Dianthus for a dollar and try it out. The first two times my orders were made mostly of samples, because I could afford many more and try a bunch of shades – I love that, every company should do that!

The mineral makeup by Alima Pure is available at the following online shops:

- The nature of Beauty

- Future Natural

- Spirit Beauty Lounge

- and of course Alima Pure

You might be able to find it at some well-stocked Health Food Stores, too, in the beauty section. I haven’t seen it at my local Whole Foods locations yet, but I anyway prefer to order online and have the full range of products.

Alima Pure blushes cost $15 for a full-size (which will last you quite a while, I still have mine!) or $1 for a sample-size. You can order unlimited sample-sized products but only two of the same.

Let me know if you end up trying the Dianthus or any other blushes from Alima Pure, and share your thoughts!

Note: This is not a sponsored post. The post simply reflects my opinion about this product.

Loved this, please do more posts like it! Most of makeup is MAC – even though that’s very popular with the drag queens (haha) I assure you I don’t overdo it! ;) I love their lipglass – I use C-Thru, but mostly Prrr, and Underage and Cultured. My blush is from them, too – Coppertone. I only wear a bit and it looks great in the summer. And their bronzer. LOVE it! My favourite eye shadow kit is by Stila. Which I have to go buy today on my lunch break! Yay for makeup talk on a Friday! ;)
